Melting the Snow Away with Ellise and Meg Smith at the Pike Room
Ellise and Meg Smith are brave women who trek out to some bitter cold places to give their fans a show that features their best along with new material. At the Pike Room on Jan 22, the temps were barely above 0° and the wind was gusting but that didn’t stop dedicated fans, some who drove 2 hours to get to the show. Meg Smith, a pop artist from LA, opened the show providing fun and energy with songs from her past couple albums “The Gospel According to…” and her latest “Disco Dystopia”. Some memorable moments included Meg covering the crowd in bubbles, cursing one of her fan’s ex and a cover of Britney Spears “Toxic”. Ellise, who may be small in stature but has a big, gorgeous voice that carry her songs to exceptional heights. Ellise sang material from her albums, most of it from her latest “Pretty Evil”. She also did a few new songs from her just released “Sexxxtapes”. Her set ended “911,” a crowd favorite. Ellise and Meg Smith are touring mid-February, be sure to catch them in a small setting because they are high rising stars.
