Lord of the Lost Dark Winter Tour Shines a Light on St. Andrews Hall
It’s hard not to mention how bitter cold it is this winter in my band review posts. Luckily, once I get inside a venue and hear the music it’s easy to forget the cold outside and embrace the dark, cold sound inside. At St. Andrews on Friday night with Lord of the Lost, The Birthday Massacre and Wednesday 13, we had 3 stellar dark bands that each have their unique take on metal and atmosphere.
Wednesday 13 opened the show with startling, loud hard punk-n-roll with leader Wednesday 13 strutting around the stage while the band banged on their instruments. The Birthday Massacre followed with a setlist that featured the best from all of their albums including their latest, Pathways. This was Lord of the Lost’s first time playing Detroit but I have a feeling they will be back more often considering the enthusiasm the crowd had for them. And for good reason, as Lord of the Lost played an exhilarating and engaging set getting the crowd to jump and sing along with them.
