Softcult and She's Green Shine on at Sanctuary
Friday night brought Softcult and She's Green to Hamtramck's Sanctuary for a night of true sonic bliss. This was my first time seeing She's Green, a Minneapolis band that play music that both beautiful and bold with buzzing guitars and ethereal vocals. I saw Softcult last year and they made such an impression on me I could not pass up the opportunity to see them again. It's hard to capture the magic you get from the first time from seeing a band but it does give you more time to focus on what was behind the magic in the first place. For Softcult I was able to hear more of their harmonies and the drums this time around. Their set was a bit more on the softer side tonight but still had plenty of edge with extended guitar breaks. They came on for an encore with the emotional "BWBB" and the last song of the night was a glimpse into their upcoming full length album.
