Preview: Paul Oakenfold & the Crystal Method unite to make Detroit dance

Paul Oakenfold and the Crystal Method have each played Detroit many times but have they ever played Detroit together on the same night? This Friday answers that question with a resounding “yes!” as both pioneers of electronic music play the Magic Stick for what promises to be an explosive night of trance and dance.

Headlining the show is Paul Oakenfold, who at this point, really needs no introduction, but here’s a reminder that he’s widely credited with helping introduce electronic dance music to mainstream global audiences. His career spans decades of cultural impact, from redefining club culture in Ibiza to headlining the world's most prominent festivals and venues.

From what I’ve been hearing on this tour both Paul and Scott of the Crystal Method have put together a night that brings a new energy to the music they’ve been performing for years. Paul surprises the crowd with a set that is totally unique with nods to pop music classics to his own big hits.

I’ve seen both Paul Oakenfold and the Crystal Method perform in recent years and they are among my favorite electronic sets. They both know how to build their sets up and work the crowd into a frenzy. There’s just a few cities left on their tour so if you’re lucky enough to have them playing near you make sure you don’t sleep on it!
