Lords of Acid Rule Over Detroit with their Cheeky Freaky Tour

The Lords of Acid toured just a year ago so it may have been a surprise to see them on the road again so soon. However, since Carla Harvey has taken over the vocals the Lords of Acid are re-energized with new material coming out and Carla solidifying her spot in the band. Tonight's show at the Magic Stick had something for everyone. The opener's all had great sets with surprises. Mz Neon opened with an early 6:30pm set with some sleazy, electro-clash. Tony & the Kiki quickly won over the crowd with a fun set of 80's inspired pop rock with an excellent cover of Tiffany's "I Think We're Alone Now." Princess Superstar proved she's still got the goods with a rap set and many outfit changes. Next up, Dead on a Sunday played a solid set of goth rock including an interesting cover of Britney Spear's "Hit Me Baby One More Time." After all that good fun, Lords of Acid took over with a rousing set of all their classics but now with Carla Harvey fully commanding the stage. They threw in a new song to the set that featured Tony & the Kiki on vocals that gave Carla a short breather. They wrapped up their set with the fan favorites "The Crablouse" and "Rubber Doll." The crowd wanted more so they came back on for an encore with "Out Comes the Evil' and "I Sit on Acid."
