After 50 Years, Devo Continues to Devolve
At this point Devo is more than a band, they are an institution! Saturday night Devo came to the Fillmore Detroit and treated the crowd to set packed with their most-loved songs.Devo's a band that needs no opener, after a brief film that updates their early movie, Devo came on to one with their later songs, Don't Shoot (I'm a Man). From there they played songs spanning their career. One of the great things seeing Devo live is appreciating the vocal exchanges in many of their songs. Their sound is more raw live with lots of Bob 1's guitar antics. They also went through several outfit changes throughout the show, including Mark ripping off their band members yellow Devo jumpers to pieces during "Uncontrollable Urge." The show wrapped up with "Booii Boy" making an appearance during an extended version of "Beautiful World."
